These terms apply when you use School Scoop, subscribe to a digest, submit a school newsletter link, use Premium, redeem a promotion, or visit our website. By using School Scoop, you agree to these terms and our Privacy & Safety page.
🏫 What School Scoop Is
School Scoop helps parents follow school newsletters by creating summaries, date lists, reminders, calendar tools, and related Premium features. We are independent. We are not part of, endorsed by, or approved by any school, education department, newsletter platform, or calendar provider.
Summaries Are Not The Official Source
School Scoop uses purpose-built automation and quality checks. Summaries, action items, translations, calendar events, and reminders can still be wrong, incomplete, delayed, duplicated, or based on an old or incorrect newsletter. Always check the official school newsletter, school website, school app, teacher message, or school office before relying on anything important.
School Scoop is a convenience tool, not an emergency, child-safety, supervision, medical, legal, financial, or official school communication service.
✅ Your Responsibilities
Please provide accurate signup details, keep your manage link private, and only submit newsletter links or school content that are publicly available or that you are allowed to share with us. Do not submit private portal content, student records, private parent communications, passwords, or anything that would breach another person's privacy.
You must not misuse School Scoop, interfere with the service, scrape it at scale, attempt to access another user's account, submit misleading verification information, or use it for unlawful, harmful, or abusive purposes.
💳 Free & Paid Premium
School Scoop may offer free and paid features. Premium features, prices, plan names, billing periods, and availability may change over time. The current price and billing period are shown before checkout.
Paid Premium subscriptions are processed by Stripe. We do not store your full card details. Subscriptions renew according to the plan you choose until cancelled. You can manage or cancel a paid subscription through the manage link or billing portal where available. If you cancel, Premium access normally continues until the end of the current paid billing period. If a payment fails, is reversed, or the subscription ends, Premium access may be paused or downgraded to Free.
Except where required by law, we do not provide refunds for change of mind, unused time, failing to cancel before renewal, or choosing the wrong plan. If something goes wrong, contact us and we will handle it in line with your consumer rights.
🎁 Promotions, Gifts & Free Premium Access
From time to time, we may offer promo codes, launch gifts, referral rewards, verifier rewards, trials, or other free access to Premium features. These offers are discretionary, have no cash value, cannot be transferred or exchanged for money, and may be subject to extra conditions shown with the offer.
Free or gifted Premium access is not a paid subscription and does not guarantee that any particular Premium feature, plan name, price, product model, or access period will remain available forever. We may change, replace, rename, reduce, or discontinue Premium features or plans, and we may move promotional users to a different free, gifted, trial, or paid model in the future. We will not charge you unless you actively choose a paid subscription.
We may refuse, suspend, shorten, or remove a promo code, gift, reward, trial, or free Premium access if we reasonably believe it was granted in error, obtained through abuse or misleading information, used outside the offer conditions, connected to inaccurate school verification, or if changes to School Scoop make the original offer impractical to continue. Where practical, we will give reasonable notice before materially changing unexpired promotional access.
📰 School Content & Submissions
If you submit a newsletter URL, school URL, correction, or other content, you give us permission to access, process, summarise, cache, review, and use that material to provide, secure, improve, and support School Scoop. We may reject, remove, correct, or stop using a school source if it is private, inaccurate, stale, unavailable, unsuitable, or not safe to process.
📬 Emails & Marketing
We send service emails needed to operate your subscription, including digests, manage links, account notices, payment notices, and important service updates. We may also send product or promotional emails where we have consent under applicable spam laws. You can unsubscribe or change preferences using links in our emails or your manage page.
🛠️ Availability & Changes
School Scoop depends on schools publishing accessible newsletters, third-party platforms, email delivery, payment systems, automated summarisation providers, and hosting providers. We do not guarantee that the service will always be available, that every newsletter will be found, or that every digest, calendar event, translation, or alert will arrive on time.
We may change these terms or the service from time to time. If a change materially affects paid Premium access, we will try to give reasonable notice. Continuing to use School Scoop after a change means you accept the updated terms.
⚠️ Liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law, School Scoop is not responsible for missed events, incorrect or delayed information, calendar errors, email delivery problems, school platform changes, loss of data, indirect loss, or costs arising from relying on School Scoop instead of official school sources.
⚖️ Consumer Rights
Nothing in these terms is intended to exclude, restrict, or modify any rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law or other laws that cannot be excluded. For paid services, our services come with consumer guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
🚪 Ending Access
You can unsubscribe from School Scoop at any time. We may suspend or end access if an account is inactive, misused, unlawful, causing operational risk, connected to inaccurate submissions, or if we stop supporting a school, feature, plan, or the service.
