Whole-school updates

• Attendance Matters: Kolorer College emphasizes the importance of regular school attendance for learning, friendships, and future opportunities. Missing even one day a fortnight adds up quickly! Please schedule non-urgent appointments outside school hours and notify the school via Compass if your child is absent. If planning extended travel, please discuss and gain approval from the school in advance.
• Support for Attendance: If your child is struggling with attendance due to worries about schoolwork or friendships, please encourage them to attend and reach out to their Mentor Group Teacher via Compass. Early communication helps the school support your child effectively.
• NAPLAN Results Update: Preliminary NAPLAN results for this term show promising outcomes, with the majority of students in the top two proficiency levels for both Numeracy (51% 'Strong to Exceeding') and Reading (53% 'Strong to Exceeding'). Intervention classes are supporting students who need additional help.
• End-of-Semester Reports: Student reports are now published. Use this as an opportunity to discuss strengths and improvement areas with your child, and contact subject teachers if you have specific questions about their learning progress against Victorian Curriculum standards.
• Student Engagement & Culture: Students have shown strong engagement in co-curricular activities like Interschool Sport, leadership programs, and the Library. The recent Student Attitudes to School survey results indicate positive progress, with 93% agreeing teachers expect attention and 87% for other positive behaviors, reflecting the school's focus on high expectations and a calm learning environment.
• Privacy Information: The school collects student and family information (enrolment, immunisation, visa status) to support education and legal obligations. This data may be shared with government departments for planning or transferred to a new school to assist student support.
